Anyone looking for an alternative to fooling around with Windows XP, and other Microsoft operating systems, is often advised to switch to Linux. It is an easy 15 minutes install, they say. Linux they claim is easy to use. And, will work on the smallest of computers.

Registry Cleaners Are NOT Miracle Cures

While I am a very strong advocate of using FREE Registry Cleaner programs to clean and speed up used computers they are, also, at the same time one of the biggest scams on the Internet. Commercial registry cleaners positively wont fix a Windows XP computer that suddenly boots up blank, reports that SHDOCVW.DLL is missing, or that explorer.exe wont initialize due to a 0xc0000022 error.

The Softplus GSiteCrawler Sitemap Generator that was written by John Mu / Johannes Mueller, googler, is generally considered to be a handy innocuous freeware program that is useful for webmasters. Wrong! It is not just another tiny nearly free program that you might have been foolish enough to have installed and used a few times. For a program that does next to nothing, it happens to be a major space hog on your hard drive.
